4HSE and Forma LMS: Strengthening the Link Between Training and Workplace Safety

This article presents the partnership between 4HSE and Forma LMS, aimed at integrating corporate training with workplace safety. Benefits of this integration include course synchronization, centralized certification management, and deadline tracking. It also highlights advanced tools like gamification to boost employee engagement, and concludes with details about an upcoming webinar exploring the platform and the opportunities offered by this collaboration.

We’re excited to announce a new partnership between 4HSE and Forma Farm, one of the companies behind the development of Forma LMS—an e-learning platform tailored to the specific needs of corporate training. This integration opens new doors for information sharing with a range of benefits.

Forma LMS: The Open Source E-learning Platform

Forma LMS is an Open Source Learning Management System (LMS) maintained by the Forma Association, which includes over 50 members and a community of 4,000 users actively contributing to new features and platform updates. The association is led by five Italian companies, including Forma Farm and Elearnit.

These companies collaborate on the continuous development of the platform, as well as new features, integrations, and commercial partnerships—like the one we’re announcing today.

With Forma LMS—especially in its Forma Cloud version managed by Forma Farm—you can deliver online training courses for employees and other stakeholders (clients, resellers, partners, etc.). It acts as a true training content hub (SCORM), featuring built-in support for prerequisites and scoring.

Staying true to its Open Source roots, the system allows for flexible configurations and customizations, with available APIs for third-party software integration.

Application Scenarios

Since every organization must ensure safety and proper training in the workplace, this integration serves two main user groups:

  • Companies: Can provide training to employees, manage certifications and attendance records centrally, and even deliver training to clients or suppliers on specific topics.
  • HSE Consultants: Can deliver training to clients both on-site and remotely, update content in real-time, and issue participation certificates and training records.

Why Integrate 4HSE with Forma LMS?

Here are some of the key advantages of this integration:

  • Personalized Training
Easily customizable content based on employee roles and risk categories. All certificates and training records are stored and linked to user profiles in one place.

  • User and Course Synchronization
Courses and participants are updated in real-time and available across both platforms. Whether working in 4HSE or Forma LMS, users can rely on consistent and up-to-date information.

  • Synchronization of Calendars, Courses, and Certificates
Courses can be delivered directly from the platform, participant progress can be tracked, and upcoming deadlines can be monitored.

  • User Engagement and Gamification
Designed to boost user interaction, the platform uses gamification tools (points, leaderboards, badges, rewards, etc.) to make learning more engaging.

  • Integrated Reporting
Consolidated training data and HSE records simplify monitoring and management.

  • Fewer Errors, Less Time Spent
Automating the data flow between the two systems eliminates duplicate data entry and reduces human error.

  • Toward a “Shared Culture of Safety”
Coordinated training fosters engagement and awareness. Structured learning contributes to the development of a shared workplace safety culture.
